I’ve been testing out the new preview version of Adobe Fuse. It’s surprisingly easy to build 3D models from a range of body part options then customise them and even add clothes which can be adapted by changing the textures and fabrics and finally altering the lighting.
Saving the finished model to my CC Library (it took a while) I could open it in Photoshop and tweak it. So I painted on the clothes, added highlights to the hair, altered the eye colour.
In the 3D workspace I chose the Bones option which opened up an array of poses and animations to apply to the model. I tested the animations by opening the Timeline panel and scrubbing through to look at individual frames for a suitable pose. Gone were the static arms. I could also alter the facial expression and move the head and the eyes by clicking on the face icon in the Properties panel.
The first result was a pastiche of the Adobe image (but not as good) so I tried a second with a background image.
I don’t know when I’d use the application but it’s good to know it’s there.
